Aston Abbotts Village Hall re-opens

Under the latest government guidelines Village Halls can now open if they can comply with Social distancing requirements.

Aston Abbotts Village Hall Committee have made some changes to the terms and conditions to take account of the Covid 19 situation and requirements and we are pleased to announce that we are now able to take bookings for the hall again.

We have disabled the hand driers and provided paper towels as well as sanitiser for hands and surfaces.

At the moment most activities in the hall have not yet re-started, and so do contact the organiser if you want to find out if the events that you normally attend are running or when they will re-start.

We look forward to welcoming villagers back to the hall.

Aston Abbotts Village Fete cancelled

Aston Abbotts Village Fete 2020

The Village Fete had been planned for Saturday 25th July this year.

I have waited as long as I could to make a decision as to whether to hold it this year depending on the government instructions on living with the Corona Virus.

After discussion with various parties I have reluctantly decided to cancel this year’s Fete.

My thanks to all those who have been involved in the early planning and hope I can have your support in preparations for the 2021 Village Fete next year.

Colin Higgs BEM

Long time resident Colin Higgs was awarded the British Empire Medal for services to Aston Abbotts in the 2020 New Years Honours list.

Colin has lived in Aston Abbotts since he was a baby and he is actively involved in many village activities. In 2019 Colin completed 50 years of service on the Parish Council.
